Fight Or Flight: A South Side Story
Forbidden love and fierce rivalry drive Jeff Hollister, a street-smart high school senior and gang leader of the Hurricanes, to the brink of disaster. Thinking he’s got the world in his back pocket, and the police at a safe distance, he and his scrappy gang of teenage delinquents come to discover they don’t always come out on top after all.
My next book signing event will be at the Connecticut Valley Brewery located at 765 Sullivan Avenue in South Windsor. The brewery is hosting a Brewery Book Worms event on the south outdoor seating area from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is to promote local artists and authors, and for me it doesn’t get much more local than this. Sullivan Avenue was the inspiration for the fictitious Burrough Street in Fight or Flight, and the Upper and Lower Plazas featured so prominently in the story are located about a mile up the road. (The Country Store located at 960 Sullivan Ave actually was a 7-11 store when I started writing the story and the two plazas on either side of the road served as the models for much of the action in the first two parts of the book.) I’m really looking forward to be back in my hometown for another signing, and I hope you’ll come by and check out the event. I’m sure the beer is cold!
